literally all i've done today is iron, tidy my room and watch tv. my mam bought me my own pink iron yesterday, for uni life. since leaving my job and finishing college i have more time to help around the house.

yesterday our media class gathered in college one last time to view our final film work. me, abby and gabrielle made cup cakes and chocolate fudge brownie for all the parents and students. it was dead nice, a lovely finish to our media a level.

whilst watching desperate housewives tonight i painted my nails. after seeing bethany blog about it here i had to go out to buy some 17 make up for this free goodie bag - it's too cute.


i used MAC's limited edition nail polish 'baby goth girl' for the base colour coat (ooh, anyone now see where i got my blog name from?) and used 2 of the nail art stickers on my thumbnails. leopard print hearts.. i love it!

i can't feel a damn thing

pretty little things

i thought i would do a little update on this blog post which i did a little while back about my ring collection. i've bought so many more since the, not all of them are even in this picture. i feel weird if i don't wear them, or forget too. i never used to wear them when i was younger, they irritated and felt uncomfortable so it's weird that i'm so obsessed with them now.

bye bye college!

we had a college leaving night out last night. about 30 of us hit nando's in sunderland for tea, then wetherspoons, then varsity, then liquid for the majority of the night - with 80p drinks!!

the turn out was so good. almost everyone from our friend circle at college was out - it was a lovely night. i'm not going to lie i was pretttty drunk, we danced all night. i didn't get in the house til 5am, whoops.

i wore this red playsuit from miss selfridge - with super high patent black platforms from new look and a black leather belt from miss selfridge too. my hair was a mess.

the majority of my photos were taken on a disposable camera so i'll photobomb them if they develop okay later on. for all i hated college i will miss the people lots and lots, i've made some lovely lovely friends.

it's so weird life at the minute. everything, literally everything i've ever known is changing or is going to change soon. i don't know if any of it is going to be for the worse or for the better. frankly it's scaring the hell out of me.. i don't know what i'll be able to handle.

my education, my family life, the town i call home, my employment status, my appearance, my house, my everything.

it's not goodbye, it's see you later.

well today, i left my job at new look. my last shift was only four hours long, 12pm-4pm. i floated for one hour, then was on the tills for three. my emotions are so mixed at the minute.

i got a lovely send off from all of the girls, Roy and Gary. Lindsay and my boss Melanie said they weren't my friend anymore for leaving haha. Emily had the day off but still came in and surprised me with a bouquet of flowers and a card.


Lindsay couldn't even look at me without filling up bless her, at the end of my shift she gave me a little friendship bracelet that matches hers.. she said it doesn't matter that i'm moving to London now cause i can look at my little bracelet and think of home. i'm filling up writing that!

but honestly, for all i've complain and moaned about work the last year and 9 months.. i truly love all of the people working there at new look and i will always remember the fun times, laughs and jokes we've all had together.

when i started at New Look back in November 2009, i was a shy little just turned sixteen year old embarking on her first job. i look back with so grateful that all the girls and guys were so nice and most took me under their wing, gave me a little more confidence, courage and maturity - aswell as many new friendships.

so yes, my shift drew to an end and Roy escorted me upstairs where some of the girls waited in the tearoom to give me leaving presents and good luck cards! they bought me some perfume, a bracelet, a little bottle of rosé wine and some chocolates.

Mel let me have one last spending spree with my 50% discount on my staff card before i had to hand it in so i went a little wild and spent about £80 - it's £160 worth of stuff when you think about it! i shall blog it all, and other buys tomorrow! i'm definitely going to miss that discount.

we like living crazy

i worked my penultimate shift at new look day, saturday is my last day working there. i'm going to miss the lovely people, now friends, which i've made there. i truly couldn't have asked for a better first job. i am sad to leave, i didn't want to go just yet. but sadly, situations at home and with my life are forcing me too leave before summer.

i'm hoping to get a few more buys in before i lose my 50% staff discount card (huge cry!) which i shall blog about with the many free hours i should accquire when i become unemployed! that sound's so weird.. i haven't been unemployed in over a year and a half.

i'm also obsessing over these aztec shorts right now, they're so similar to the aztec ones from topshop that sold out.. but mine are new look. i love a good look-a-like.

kiss of the vampire, DIY!

i decided i need to get into the swing of cheap student life at uni since i should be moving to surrey in about three months time! so i'm rehashing old things from my wardrobe so i can re-wear them again and update them!

i've already fringed a few tops... like i blogged about in this post. so now i'm cutting up old t shirts into nicely updated and current tank tops.. the outcome is above!



literally all i did was messily cut out the sleeves with a pair of sharp hairdressing scissors, and voila! ... i've got a nice new kate bosworth style tank top for summer.

just incase you're wondering, this top is about three years old.. here are sme ancient blog posts about when i first bought it! here and here i absolutely loved it!

i think i shall do this, or similar things with more old tee's.


i realise that i never post full proper outfit photos much anymore.. so here's my face - sorry for the sight. i don't feel very comfortable doing outfit posts lately.

little accessories haul

i went to newcastle with two of my friends today for a little shopping trip, we spent the whole day looking around and buying things for out holidays.. i went a little accessory-mad!

i was doing a little window shop of topshop the other day and these things caught my eye. these shorts, this shirt and this topman satchel and this powder/petrol blue nail varnish are all definite new editions to my never ending wishlist!

shooting the moon

fringed tops seem to be very big for this summer.. kimberley and emily of wildfox have certainly jumped on the trend.. as have topshop, new look and other high street stores. so i decided to give the fringed effect ago on an old vest of mine.

so...
1. here's my top and my bog standard hairdressing scissors. since they're sharp.
2. i started off in the centre of the tank, with small approx. 3 inch cuts going up the top. then i left about 1.5cm gap between that cut and the next.

3. then i repeated the process the whole way round the top... cutting through the back and front at the same time.

4. once the whole top was fringed. i gently pulled on the fringed sections to stretch them out a bit, in my opinion the effect looks better and disguises the clean scissor cuts a little.

i shall do an outfit post featuring the top later on if i have time! i do like the effect, however i think i shall revisit my version.. and make it into a cropped fringe shirt like this topshop one.

p.s. i cant stop listening to mona after the kings of leon gig. i mean seriously. give them a listen here. i especially love 'shooting the moon' and 'teenager' and 'lean into the fall' from their self titled album 'mona'

four kicks, who's strutting now?

a quick post to show my appreciation for the KINGS OF LEON last night at the stadium of light. they were absolutely amazing and so were the support bands, mona and white lies.

at first me, my brother and my two friends were right at the front, bout two people from the barrier. then as soon as they came on stage.. mosh pits started up soooo so bad. we were getting pushed and pulled everywhere and i was worried for my little brother so we moved to the left slightly were it was a little calmer. one of my friends felt sick so she got pulled over the barrier by security and was given a taxi home bless her!
