jumper: topshop, jeans: new look, boots: f+f at tesco.
lately i live in skinny black jeans and chelsea boots. plus, this jumper goes with everything, i love it. however i do with i'd gotten a few sizes smaller, i bought it with an oversized look in mind, but it's hugeeee. i might try stitching some elastic into the sleeves and bottom hem.

film 02
01. the hunger games
having not read the series of books before i watched the film i thought i might not understand the narrative fully. however, i thought the film was directed beautifully and realistically. naturally, i thought the story line was amazing - they usually are when they're derived from book adaptations! i'm so excited to read the books now, to fill in any gaps or missing sections of the hunger games story.
02. man on a ledge
was a film that really surprised me. being based predominantly around 'the ledge' on which sam worthington stood could have potentially been really static and a little boring. but the film kept up huge momentum and suspense throughout. figuring out the plot makes you think and keeps you interested.
03. cherrybomb
basically i was intrigued to see this film, due to the cast. the three leads being robert sheehan, rupert grint and kimberley nixon. the film was a little bit slow, but i thought the acting was really strong - god knows how rupert kept up that thick irish accent throughout the whole filming! i loved the ending, no spoilers i promise.
04. youth in revolt
michael cera seems to play the same persona in a lot of his movies, however - one thing different was 'francois dillinger', an alter ego to this particular character, nick twisp. it was funny, tongue in cheek and features some famous and funny faces throughout, steve buscemi, zack galifianakis and justin long to name a few.
05. blue velvet
directed by david lynch is a film i watched for university research. not a film i 'd choose to watch and not a film to everyone's taste but i do admire the courage the actors and lynch has to create this. the director of photography, frederick elmes did a beautiful job in the cinematography aspect of the film. i enjoyed the small and subtle changes in the beginning and ending montages. some scenes were a little disturbing, frank is a very strange sociopathic man..

these posts contain a list and short bio of 5 films that i've most recently viewed. they include films that have been on my 'to watch' list for years, have been recommended to me, have been recently released or are on the list of films for my university project! i try not to include spoilers in my descriptions - just a brief synopsis, the genre and my general opinion. |

little seasonal transition wishlist.
earrings and jeans: topshop, both dresses: zara, headphones: sony, playsuit and studded top: miss selfridge, tunic: topshop, both shoes: zara.
for starters i love the muted colours, with added hints of mauves and roses, the acid washed denim and the clash of textures and embellishments. i'm hoping to purchase at least a couple of these items. i adore everything!!
hope everyone is well! i have so many posts lined up.
currently listening to alex clare and reading posts by jean greige & thelma romu

a favourite of mine
i think it's about time i showed you all my most favourite boots in the world, my topshop dante biker boots. i got them a few months ago now, but i've somehow never gotten round to posting about them. they're a lot more weather beaten nowadays than these photographs.
i wanted some biker boots for a while but i wanted some a little different, these ones fit the bill. the mix of textures, shearling and leather with added stud detailing.
they were 'money well spent' in my eyes, they go with everything. i was in topshop yesterday and i noticed a lone pair of them still on the summer 2012 mannequins! proving even more to me that they'll still look fine with denim shorts and summer outfits too.

it felt so crystal, in the air
shirt: primark necklace: h&m, jeans: new look, watch: casio at urban outfitters, perspex ring: h&m, silver ring: a gift from athens, nail varnish: nails inc 'omp! by fabulous'.
i actually love this shirt. just a short little outfit post today. i've now been for two nights out in a row. i'm aching everywhere but trying to gather strength to go out again tonight. you've gotta do these things when all your friends are home from university at the same time!!
i've bought a few more things, and watched a few more films whilst being at home, so look out for upcoming posts!
p.s - i'm currently selling some stuff on ebay this week, all ending tomorrow!! there's a bit of topshop, new look and christopher kane (click here)

shopping spree
here's a few images of some of my latest buys. i honestly hadn't bought any clothes in ages. so i splurged a little. i adore this topshop jumper - £45. it's my favourite thing ever. the dip dye, the studded shoulders + the slouchy fit = perfection!
dip dye leopard print top from primark - £10.
pastel leopard t shirt - £4 from primark. i intend to cut off the scalloped edges - creating a more house of holland feel to it. the only reason i got it was for the pattern, a new nail art inspiraton maybe?
polka dot sheer black shirt - £10 from primark.
this shirt was a definitely must have. considering the price of similar things in topshop/urban outfitters i was more than willing to pay a tenner for this. it goes with absolutely everything!
cord detail khaki coat - was £35 down to £10 from primark.
i wanted this jacket when it was full price at £35, but i couldn't justify paying that much for something from primark! so i waited and spotted it in the reduced section for £10 - i think i almost ran to the till with it.
a set of silver stackable rings (£2.99) and a chunky perspex ring (1.99) from h&m.
i adore all things transparent so the perspex ring was a no brainer - it's so unusual and so cheap! the stackable rings are also just what i'm looking for, they are the perfect style to chuck on in a hurry and they look cool wherever they fall.
i have bought a few more things lately - including some chelsea boots, a few books and some t shirts - so watch this space!

prima donna manicure
my latest manicure, inspired by the monochrome bordered nails of the beautiful marina diamandis.
i absolutely love marina in her latest video for 'prima donna'. it's not usually the kind of styling i like, but he really pulls off the hair rollers, pastel colours, heart shaped beauty spot, 60's eye make up and full circle skirts and with hairbands. i also love the art direction and set design. pixelated resolutions, spotlights and fast cutting all make an amazing video.
finally, i'm always fond of a video which you can grab beautiful stills from, like these!
i altered them slightly though, as i still haven't found a white nail polish that is fully opaque, yet shiny and thick. to me, they all seem to look a bit like tip-ex. so i substituted the white for my favourite metallic shade 'eyes of steel' from topshop. it's an extremely light and shimmering lavender that only needs one coat, even straight over black polish.
have a try! i think it's pretty good!
