dress: forever 21, bag: new look, sunglasses: topshop, anklet: corfu and creepers.
cocktail: a beautiful mango & lime daiquiri from giraffe, just off brick lane.
bracelets (left to right): pandora leather cord bracelet & charms / h&m bangle / urban outfitters mini skull friendship bracelet / blue sandstone bracelet by lola rose / casio watch from urban outfitters / small skull on a leather cord made by me / 'hamsa hand' charm bracelet also by urban outfitters.
on friday kirsty and i tool her full day off work to it's advantage! we caught the train into london and first of all hit oxford street. we visited selfridges for my magazines (lula #14 and oh comely #10) - and we got sidetracked in monki. all jersey's were half price, so i bought a gorgeous black/white striped tank top for £4. topshop was also on the cards to find kirsty a new purse, she got a gorgeous real leather one for £25.
next it was off to shoreditch/brick lane to see a pretty cool graduate exhibtion, curated by one of kirstys best friends charlotte! titled the orchard it featured amazing concepts and promotional schemes from several UCA Farnham, Advertising and Branding grads. to top that there were cool hay bales to sit on and sharpie doodles all over the floor.
we went next door to have a drink in the big chill house, before me and kirsty went for a wander up and down brick lane. then it was off to giraffe for amazing enchiladas, burgers and cocktails before heading home for a night at wetherspoons. what a way to spend my last day in london before i came home for summer. i am going to miss it so much. roll on september!

stream of the unconscious
these are part of a much bigger piece i did for my final 'fashion imaging' project. the concept was the promotion of lucid dreaming, pushing the idea to a wider audience and encouraging everyone to explore and have fun with being able to control your own dreams.
i total, i created a series of three short films, a photographic series of fashion images, two 3D advertising posters, a CD and a set of 8 postcards. ill hopefully put photographs of the rest of the work up on sophiexlobban.tumblr.com sometime soon. but for now, here are some of my fashion photographs, along with stills from the films.

i follow rivers
shirt: charity shop, necklaces: h! by henry holland / h&m.
i regret to inform you that this is probably my last post until next week! haha. my final uni deadline is stressing me out and i'm not sure how i'm going to make it right now.
i can't wait to for summer, chill out at home, visit kirsty in cornwall, hopefully go to manchester, a week in mallorca with the girls then it'll soon be time to move into our new house back down in surrey! i can wait to decorate my room up really nice, and cook things in our kitchen, then have the best time ever in our hugeee conservatory! what is everyone else up to for summer?
i am also obsessed with pinterest - https://pinterest.com/sophiexlobban/. so here's a few examples of my boards - i can quite stop adding to them! that website is so addictive, and when you want to look for new images search it!! it's like the most beautiful google image search you've ever seen.

film 04
dark shadows (2012)
taken from my previos post: it's a funny film, as in strange. i can't quite decide whether it was absolutely amazing or not. it has a huge comedic factor but also some melodrama elements too then it has a little bit of fantasy and magic thrown in aswell. oh and as per usual johnny depp is amazing in it. the only thing for me was the fact that they could have done sooo much more with the original 'dark shadows' storyline. to me it felt totally left open for a sequel, so here's hoping for a dark shadows 2.
trainspotting (1996)
i loved this. it's a very different type of film to what i'd usually think about watching, but i've heard lots of talk about it over the years, then it cropped up on a reading list for my university essay - so i rented it from the library. it's very raw, rough and harrowly realistic. obviously i don't know much about heroin abuse and i don't condone it, but this film opened my mind and educated me in regards to the mindset of the addicted. i found myself willing renton thorughout the film too keep clean, not to have his 'one last hit' and to get his life on track. this film grips you.
science of sleep (2006)
another michel gondry film i've watched lately. it's bursting with creativity, art and illusion - contrasting stephane's dreams and imagination with his reality and life. i loved the set design, bilingual dialogue and humour.
teeth (2007)
what a ridiculous film, i'm not even sure why me, kirsty and charlie began watching it - but it's an hour of my life i will not get back. it's a daft disturbing storyline, with pretty rubbish acting. however, it was funny, we were laughing at the sheer stupidity of every male character in the entire film. hilarious.
fight club (1999)
the first rule of fight club.. you do not talk about fight club. the second rule of fight club is.. you do not talk about fight club. just watch it. blows your mind a bit.

these posts contain a list and short bio of 5 films that i've most recently viewed. they include films that have been on my 'to watch' list for years, have been recommended to me, have been recently released or are on the list of films for my university project! i try not to include spoilers in my descriptions - just a brief synopsis, the genre and my general opinion. |

floral ribcage
second photograph by tim walker for w magazine 'magical thinking'.
ribcage/rose tunic: topshop, cardigan: new look, studded jeans: primark and creepers.
i do love this top, it's a perfect mix of feminism and grunge. this outfit was for nothing special, just generally getting along with my day. speaking of days, today was a pretty good one. i went to the cinema with kirsty and charlie to see 'dark shadows'.

i'm deeply sorry - my posts are getting shitter and shitter. it's because my room is so small. i have no space to move in. hopefully when i get to my new lovely house in september things will improve. actually, they should improve when i get home in three weeks. i finish my first year of university in three weeks, it's gone so fast, everyone said it would.
