here's a little picture run through/tutorial of how i studded my iphone case or those who asked way back when i posted this in january! sorry it's a little overdue.. i've been through the mill and back since losing my phone shortly after that post, so i wanted to wait until i got my replacement phone before i started studding away.
so basically all you need is a plain black iphone shell, well any phone case really - it's not an iphone restricted thing haha - mine was from ebay for about £1.50. it's pretty perfect to glue things too as it's totally matte in finish. then buy a little pack of about 100 iron on studs from ebay for a dirt cheap price, some tweezers and some superglue - et voilá.
there's not really much technique to it. i just glued them up and stuck them in a grid like fashion, easiest thing ever. i placed them all onto the cover before actually sticking any down, to make sure they all fit properly and lined up well. i started from one corner and worked my way down to the opposite after that, just so i wasn't knocking any out of place once i'd glued them. then leave it to dry out and stick, then you're done!
i love it! the whole cover cost about £2.10 to make entirely - pretty good i say. let me know if any of you try it or have tried it out already!

prick your finger on the spinning wheel
blouse: charity shop, jumper: topshop, necklace: vivienne westwood, bag: urban outfitters, iphone cover: DIY and coral lipstick.
hello! apologies once more for the ridiculously shitty outfit post today. this was yesterday's outfit. my miniscule university room is a n i g h t m a r e to even move in let alone get a full length picture. well, i'm keeping this post short and sweet - as i've worked my ass off for university today and i am therefore allowed an early-ish night, watching tv in bed! yey.
listening too: the pierces - you'll be mine.

no light no light in your bright blue eyes
hello again, i'm feeling pretty uninspired with blogging lately - which is a first to be honest. i'm a bit fed up with the certain posts, 'i've bought this!' 'i wish i could afford this' 'here's a make up review' etc. don't get me wrong i do like blogging and recording that kind of stuff sometimes.. it just gets a bit repetitive and boring too me.
so.. here's a video!! a one which i recorded at the florence + the machine concert on friday night. she was amazing.. she concentrated fully on the music - nothing fancy, it was just beautiful. no light no light is one of my favourite tracks from ceremonials.
florence welch herself is just so passionate about what she does and i hope i find a job i can become so passionate about in the future too. her voice was unreal, totally haunting and other worldly to listen too. it was kind of like the whole arena was in a trance listening to her and singing along with every song.
hopefully after the next two weeks are over and i have some spare time over easter i can focus more on my blog and give it a new burst of energy. find some fresh new things to blog about and push my blog in a more creative and less materialistic way.
i'm going to try to start writing more.. so maybe a few more descriptive posts will pop up soon. i post a lot of visual, but i'm hoping to inject some inspiration and imaging creating text too.
lets see how this goes... sorry for anyone who wont like it!!

a lack of colour
lipstick: rimmel, jacket: topshop, shirt: jumble sale, necklace: shopping channel and vintage chain, jeans; primark, anklet: made by kirsty, slippers: topshop.
this was just a really random and rushed outfit post picture from the other day. i seem to always revert back to simple momochrome outfits, no matter what the season!
as you can see i really need to tidy my uni room. i can't wait to move back out of it for summer and next year. it's just far too small and i have no room at all for anything i own! especially clothes. they're all shoved in tiny corners or my room and squished on my ridiculously small wardrobe rail - i hate it.
however, for next year we have to find our own place.. all i ask for is a bigger wardrobe, a washing machine thats actually in the building and a bookshelf - then i'll be totally fine!
i'm at home for the weekend now, i'm off to see florence and the machine tonight - can't physically wait! can't wait for a nice drink with some friends, a meal for mothers day and a day out with dad and dominic tomorrow. but i've got to remember i must fit sketchbook/uni work in somewhere!

my moon my man
jacket: topshop, top: tu at sainsbury's, scarf: vintage, leggings: h&m, boots: topshop and necklace: topshop. second image: unknown source via tumblr.
i went for a little bit of a print clash today, polka dots and snake print combined with trusty black! i don't really know why.. i do like the whole major print clash trend that flickered through SS2012 shows, so i translated it to my not-so-bright-and-in-your-face wardrobe.
today i had the loveliest day in a long while. it started off a bit nerve-wracking however. i had a client meeting with helen saunders from selfridges this morning. i have a live project at university, doing the visual merchandising concept for the selfridges window displays through summer of 2012, we have to come up with a concept, work on the visuals/styling/idea/budget/mechanics then present it all in two weeks time! the meeting went fine, we got lots of advice and any criticism we got was very constructive anyway - so it's all good.
then i met up with two friends, sophia and alice. we'd planned to go visit a little exhibition at the ICA, but it was shut - typical. so we sat in the park and soaked up the sun for a while.. then went to see saz's boyfriend timothy at work in this newly opened little café curator's coffee studio near monument, in london. the interior design is beautiful too, a play on balancing out opposites. old vs. new industrial space, natural wood vs. man made metal.
the counters made with a feature piece of weathered wood, covered in metallic spray paint. the turquoise door frames matched the shiny new drinks machines. the handwritten menu's hung on mauve hessian cloth behind the innovative ipad till system. however, i love the little touches the best. the tiny, handle-less mugs of tea and the vintage looking drawer set (home to the coffee condiments) that was attached to a grey breezeblock wall.
the place is lovely. the food was amazing! for being a pretty fussy eater myself i tried all of the deserts and snacks we were given - free of charge too (we were first day of opening customers, thank you again!) soft thick banana bread, savoury muffin with cayenne cream and chocolate brownies with our complementary cup of lovely green tea!

summer transition wishlists
it has to be said, zara do create some amazing clothes. i'm constantly in awe at the new materials and textures and colours they use every season. the zara buyers are always on top form, and this summer is no exception.
i these four items would be amazing in my summer wardrobe. i'm still not very into the whole 'REALLY BOLD AND IN YOUR FACE' colours, so knowing me i'll going to stick to pastel, greys and whites with lots of denim i think. i adore the pleated flowing skirt of the dip dyed grey dress and the pale swirls of colour on the light kimono jacket. i'm also going to try a dip dye denim shirt of my own when i have the time.
however, one purchase i bought last week totally contradicts my above statement, this t shirt from asos totally caught my eye and i had to have it hahah.
still.. i love it and i wear it with a lot of black.
i'm also well into footwear brand vagabond. it's not stocked very widely in the uk so it's pretty hard to get a hold of in a store, but i seriously would love any of these pairs of shoes. i love the thick soles.. they would be a subtle nod to the hugeeee creeper trend going on at the minute but a lot less ...err hardcore(is that the word? probably not..) haha!
link me some of your wishlists/polyvore accounts?
