words by life. for the dior show, "it was layers and layers of face paint, body paint, glitter, black eyeliner, fake eyelashes, teasing," photographer revere recalls. "i've never seen this before, but they actually glued these little strings to the sides of her eyes and pulled her eyes back with these strings and hid them in her hair."through the pain of it all, however, kloss kept it professional: "rather than screaming, ow! it was a very delicate, 'can you pull it a little less tight?'

the full look that closed the dior show, revere says, "was like rock star meets 1920's cinema queen meets 5-year-old little girl running around in the forest, rolling around in glitter - it was just fantasy. and that moment when she's looking in the mirror, it's like she looked through me. she became somebody else. i remember so vividly because she was the last in line to go and she was towering above me -- you know, she's got on the heels and the dress and the hat and the hair -- and she seemed like she was as tall as the highest star up there."
