a few weeks ago i attended the 'juergen teller in conversation with bice curiger' talk at the institute of contemporary arts in celebration of the Woo! exhibition celebrating juergens personal and commercial work spanning years and years.

i learnt so much duruing the talk, i love how open and honest he is in real life, it totally reflects his work and aesthetic of photography. he has amazing little stories about vivienne westwood, victoria beckham and many other of his most reknowned pieces of work too. he is very humble and constantly inspired by new things, he has ideas working around in his brain for future work - some of which he is scared of... (another thing i think is hilarious - the bold and daring quality to his work is something he is famed for!)

his way of working struck me as quite child-like, rarely planning his shoots very well and kind of working on a whim and hoping everything goes to plan, he asks his subjects honest and open questions when photographing them and doesn't give too much a crap in regards to critics - in fact collects and publishes his bad press along side his photos in books.

& other stories | earrings

i finished work bang on time today so i had a spare half an hour to wander oxford street at a liesurely pace before heading home tonight - so i finally got the chance to visit h&m's new big sister store '& other stories' on regent street!

the visual merchandising is beautifully executed, its sleek and contemporary - yet timeless. as i always do - i wander a shop focusing much more on accessories and jewellery than i do the clothes. so i cant comment much on them - some pieces caught my eye through distinct shades of blue and purple combined with rainbow like holographic detailing.

attention to detail is what i love, especially when it's minimal in aesthetic. tiny postcard sized images of the products which feel like they could be pulled straight from a sophisticated fashion editorial are taped to the table tops and clipped to the sides of garment rails. crisp clear perspex containers house the varied chunky metallic jewellery whilst the shop windows are laced in their handwritten logo on giant sheets of plastic.

it all feels handmade and loved, but thought about and totally slick, kudos.

as well as the beautiful little black mirrored clutch bag above (which i so desperately want as my new make up bag!) i also fell for these earrings - and at £12 i thought they were reasonably priced. druzy crystal like stones that look like they've been caught in an oil spill - encased in a simple understated gunmetal rectangle. perfection.
