just checking in

hello! sorry for not blogging much this last week, i've been so busy and had so much on my mind.. blogging seemed a little trivial(?) to me. since sunday, i've been at home and i'm due back into london tomorrow night.

i've had a pretty draining week, coming to terms with some things, allowing myself a night out, getting my money stolen on said night out, catching up with people i havent seen since august of 2011, eating my weight in chocolate and ice cream and buying some new topshop boots to cheer myself up a bit.

i'm currently purchasing loads of random bits and bobs from ebay, like a pearled collar, jewellery wire, iron on studs, carabiners etc. just to spruce things up and make some stuff.

my latest endeavour is making a studded iphone case, however i haven't a clue which design to choose, i tried out a few last week - which do you like? 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 or 6?

i'll be back blogging properly soon, soph x

  5. Oh, that's such a neat idea for your phone! Your iPhone case is like identical to the Jagger Edge ones. I love studs! I agree with everyone else, I like the first one too. :)

  6. Hi I was wondering if you lived far from London, I live in Durham and I'm thinking about going to university there but I'm actually terrified, I know you have explained you were homesick but is it a hassle travelling backwards and forwards?

    1. hello! i live in epsom about 30mins south of london, and go to UCA for my degree course. living near london is amazing for london, i know if i was at uni anywhere else i wouldn't have any where near the same calibre of tutors i have at UCA, we've had workshops with a topshop photographer, the girls from patternity and my lecturers are fashion editors/stylists and photographers in london. i know that i wouldn't get that at home in durham either so in that way it's amazing.

however, the travel can be a hassle sometimes, train tickets are expensive if you dont book them early and the megabus from london - sunderland takes 6/7hours but it's dirt cheap. so you've just gotta weigh up all your pro's and cons. mine pros and cons between studying at home or in london were pretty much balanced and i just took the plunge.

it's a huge decision, and a scary one.. but actually moving down isn't as nerve wracking as you think. you make friends easy, cause freshers sorts that right out for you :) you've just got to get as many opinions as you can.

sorry for the blabber! i just know how tough it is deciding whether to or not! add me on facebook if you like 'sophie lobban' x

  7. Thank you so much or this reply, i'm applying in for universities in September and it means alot that you took the time to explain things in detail. I really want to go into make-up and the only really good places where I might have a chance are in London. I feel a little more relaxed about moving if I get into any of the options iv'e chosen and it's great that I can read read your blog and see how much of a difference London is from Durham x
